A visit to a gorgeous lake for a few days, offered oodles of inspiration and appreciation for the bountiful gifts Mother Nature has bestowed upon us all....

The early morning breeze rises off the pristine lake, Pushing gently lapping waves onto the shore. My senses awaken with nature’s breath As though I am breathing for the very first time! A family of geese glides gracefully by, Reflected in the wide blue expanse of sparkling water. My sunshine smile is irresistible! As I squint into the brilliance of nature’s awe, Every breath becomes a bouquet of sensation! Captivating scents of pine and fir entice, As enchanting feathered melodies serenade! Life could not be more perfect than at this moment. The fresh breeze suddenly changes direction, And the wind gently tosses Handfuls of diamonds onto the lake! Caught in the rippling surface The dazzling gems dance across the water, And I catch my breath in wonder! All that I am is so very insignificant In the presence of such incredible beauty! Nature has welcomed me into her open arms, She has deemed me worthy of her gifts, And I am humbled by her graciousness! © Annabel Sheila

Beautiful write and a beautiful photo. I love the water as it always feels magical to me. Natures gifts often go unoticed by so many.

There is nothing else like the co-mingling of lake and woods. Millions of carats in diamonds displayed as you so aptly frame for us in this delightful passage. Patrick

Sometimes, Annabel, sometimes there is a moment, a rare moment when everything about you is absolutely perfect and your mind seems to relax and to feel that which is about us and that which is within us.... Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately because if moments such of these occur too often possibly we would not appreciate them, but occasionally everything about us and within us is absolutely perfect. And, you, my friend had found such a moment.
