Another weekend in the little bunky in the woods....My God! How I wish everyone could experience the soul soothing of this enchanting little place in the forest! I guess I'll have to bring you all there through my words...come on, take my hand...

Poem Artwork

Nestled into the forest
The little cabin embraces those within,
Watching over them in slumber.
It’s so quiet and peaceful here …
Mother Nature’s lullaby playing softly…
Raindrops dancing on birch trees
In perfect harmony with the soft crackling
Of glowing embers in the wood stove.
Cosy and warm inside, the windows wide open
She welcomes the gentle breeze…
It’s fragrant bouquet solace to her senses.
Now and then, a droplet of rain kisses her cheek,
And her sigh comes from her soul!
Life pauses as her mind unwinds…
She’s never felt more aware!
In wonder, she stares out into the night,
Her eyes, like a forest dweller,
Adjusting to the darkness!
And her vision is crystal clear…
Splendour beyond her wildest dreams,
Beyond anything humankind could create,
Right there before her!
No harsh street lamps; no concrete sidewalks;
No incessant traffic noise; no crime; no hate;
Only peace and harmony!
And she longs to stay here,
To be part of this reality…
The only truth that makes perfect sense!
And she vows that one day
She’ll leave the city behind, and
Her heart and soul will reconnect!
Because every time she leaves here,
She leaves her heart behind!

THIS PLACE OF RECONNECTION THAT YOU'VE DESCRIBED SO WELL IS CHERISHED AS MUCH AS IT IS BECAUSE ITS FAR AWAY FROM EVERYDAY LIVING...ITS A 'SPECIAL PLACE' THAT'S ENJOYED FOR BEING JUST THAT. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...

Sounds like the perfect place to write. Enchanting, Anna. Hugs,

Anna, it's nice to get away and "reconnect" every so often, but it's also nice getting back to the modern world. As a child, I lived that life and I wouldn't want to go back to it on a permanent basis. I love all my conveniences, especially my computer, but also mosquito spray, garbage service, air conditioning and all the others. (couldn't survive without my stereo)

That said, however, I thank you for the nice visit you took me on. Thanks Dick

Such a refreshing journey to this place, and through your poem, and now I'm breathing deeply!

My cabin in the woods has been this motorhome...it may not be super warm in the winter, but it is a roof, floor & four walls, & I am out in the woods too, though with a few neighbors...still your cabin sounds delightful away from everybody...e

Brings back such wonderful memories of my own camp up in the Westchester Mountains by Sutherlands Lake. So miss that place, build from scratch one board at a time with a lot of beer and a lot of sweat.

Lovely, soothing words, my dear friend. Just reading what you write does sooth and leave me longing for the quiet little cabin nestled within the forest. However, you and I know, Anna, that we of your and my generation are spoiled to that which we have and, though in poetry it sounds wonderful, in true life, within days or a week or, possibly two weeks, we would, once again want to connect with the world.
And if you ever do make it to SoCal, I would like nothing more than to actually meet you.

My kind of place indeed, and I'm never happier than when I'm in a tent or a cabin in the woods, amidst Mother Nature's glory.

Sounds like Utopia to me. Be careful with Utopia, Anna, nothing is completely sin free. Please don't misunderstand me. I know that the "bunky" is your paradise on earth, I hope it will always be.
