Had a few wonderful days at the little bunky in the woods last week...

Poem Artwork

Down in the woods remnants of winter still linger,
Splashes of white here and there
Amongst majestic pines and slender birch
That long for the kiss of spring upon their boughs.

Wispy curls of smoke rise heavenward
Until the breeze scatters them
And they disappear without a trace
Leaving behind a faint scent of cosy warmth.

The fire in the wood stove crackles softly
Its flames dancing on the wooden walls
And the serenity envelops my soul
Stripping away the insanity of life’s hectic pace!

Gazing out the window into the quiet forest
My thoughts scurry through the trees
Chasing wood gnomes and fairies
That only I can see!

And life is everything it should be…
In this cosy little wooden bunky
Tucked lovingly into the forest
Surrounded by all that matters.

Surrounded by all that matters - a heavenly feeling indeed, especially next to a cackling fire in a log cabin in the woods.

You paint a very enchanting landscape, Anna. Beware of those gnomes and fairies, however. If you need someone who can draw a bead on them and blast them to smithereens, let me know. They talk tough but wear lace panties. Easy to spot with good radar.

My idea of cosy is snuggled up right here on a beauitful California beach with toes planted in the moist warm sand and sipping a melon (midori) magarita. It is so hard to imagine myself in a white wonderland such as yours but it is nice to see you love it as much as it is pronounced in this exquisite little poem.

You know what, Anna, my good old friend? You just about, almost, maybe, possibly caused me to miss winter. The picture you draw here, is truly one of peace and beauty. And guess what? I still don't miss winter.

Annabel, cool reminder of getting away from it all...my idea of roughing it is staying at a Motel 6. Love the picture too.
Cheers,

Oh boy, Anna, you took me on a very quiet and scenic trip into the wonderland of your own little bunky, and I thank you so much for allowing me this treat.
