Still recovering from pneumonia...been a very rough few weeks...dreaming of blue skies, warm sun, soft sand...and of course the cheeky seagulls mocking me...giggle....

Poem Artwork

I long to wander beside the sea
Where my thoughts unwind and I am free
To stroll along near an ebbing tide
Imagination open wide

A gentle hiss or a mighty roar
There is solace at the ocean door
For whether the sea is edgy or calm
Her endless dance is soothing balm

I long to hear the cheeky chants
Of seagulls in their lively dance
Catching breezes I cannot see
Soaring high and mocking me

To gaze upon glittering gems that shine
With every ripple of Neptune’s brine
Multi-faceted hues of blue
Sapphire, turquoise and cobalt too

God! How I wish that I were there
Briny tangles in my hair
Warm sand clinging to my feet
A day at the shore just can’t be beat

Just out back Anna experiencing what you describe in your poem, magnificent! The apartment building where I live sits on the Detroit river, the view is awesome. I bask in the sun with the birds & feed them while they honor God with songs of praise. Thank you for this poem Anna and I am loving it. You are a blessing to us all and as I write my healing prayer to God for you is in the universe and at His throne. Peace!!!

Summers in Newfoundland must be one of the best kept secrets of all time. But no more. You've told all. Now brace yourself for a flood of visitors replete in straw hats, bermudas, and knobby knees. A super write. Glad you're feeling better.

Oh, Anna. If I thought it would help, I'd drive about seven miles, as the crow flies, to our Pacific coast to fill a Mason jar with some Southern California sand and Pacific water along with some of our seventy-seven degree air and send it to you. But, alas, I doubt it would help you feel better. Poor lady. Well, I guess you've just another month or so till things warm up enough for a trip to your beloved shore.

Spring is in the air and that time will come very soon. Until then, defeat that pneumonia like I have and everything will be better and brighter.

This is adorable, Anna, just adorable. The rhyming was above excellent, it was superb. The scenes you described put me right there beside you. This is a damn good poem.
