Honoring the great Christian leader who confronted the challenge of racism in America. Inspiring America to live up to her Judeo-Christian principles, Martin Luther King, Jr. confronted institutionalized racism and brought about the passage of the "Civil Rights Act" in Congress.
Relentlessly, he challenged practices perpetuated for over a century by the Democrat Party in the "Solid South" following the Civil War. His policy of nonviolence in the face of thinly veiled Ku Kux Klansmen with fire hoses and attack-dogs drew worldwide attention that forced the reluctant party leadership to take action.
It was only after the assassination of the President who defied the southern Democrats that the conscience of the people forced Congress to act! The laws were changed in Washington, D.C., but little was changed in the hearts of powerful racists.
Dr. King was martyred, the Attorney General who championed his cause was murdered, and the division between the races in America is more cruel and violent than ever before. The forces that seek to perpetuate racism and slavery worldwide now seek to destroy America herself!
Martin Luther King, Jr., Day is a great national religious celebration of the power of Christianity in the United States during the Twentiety Century.
