I know not many people read this blog, especially when compared with the thousands of political blogs out there, but I'm going to have my say anyway. In a few days America will be voting again, this time for mid-term elections. I sincerely hope that the Democrats do not take back either the House or the Senate. Before you vote, consider this - our enemies in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere would like nothing better than for the Democratic Party to regain power. (Remember Spain?) On the domestic side, our economy is strong - inflation and unemployment are down, and the stock market is way up. On the other hand, if you LIKE higher taxes, even more government spending (yes, I know the Republicans have been just as bad on spending), decreased security, and what I call government "social tinkering," than vote for the Democrats. They'll be sure to help America to become more like Europe - bloated governments, huge, uncontrollable immigrant populations, a declining entrepeneurial class, burdensome regulations, and a general decline in the Judeo-Christian value system that is the fundament of western civlization. I know - I see it every day - I live here.
