The election results are not good. The House is in Democrat hands and the Senate may be as well. The war against the Islamofascists will probably be undercut, our enemies will be coddled, our taxes will be raised, our economy will suffer, immigration problems will be exacerbated, and the insanity of extreme "political correctness" will run rampant. Impeachment and investigations will take up the time of next Congress, most of which will lead to nought, but the Dems will do it anyway.
Much of this, I realize, is the Republicans' own fault - they just cannot seem to GOVERN when they get in power. The GOP had both houses of Congress, the White House, a majority of governorships, AND a conservative majority on the Supreme Court (hooray for that!) and they still could not reform Social Security, bring spending under control, and make President Bush's tax cuts permanent.
We have a great economy, we've had no attacks on US soil in five years, and we've rid the world of two truly evil dictatorships.
It's a good record. But apparently it wasn't good enough. American voters are a fickle bunch. Someone said people get the government they deserve. But Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House? Sheeeesh . . .
What's next, President Hilary Clinton?
God forbid.
Let's hope this mess is reversed in 2008 and the country doesn't sustain too much damage in the meantime.
