I haven't said anything for a while, especially on politics, because the pace of political news is almost breathtaking - and it's not even 2008 yet! But I just have to comment on this Obama "boomlet" or whatever it is. How can a guy be qualified for the office of President of the United States with only a couple of years in the Senate (OK - he'll have 4 years by then, with the last 2 taken up by campaigning) and six years as a state senator? Let's be serious.
My prediction: if the US electorate is looney enough to elect Obama president, he will move both the social and economic agendas to the left, downsize our military, and severely hamstring our intelligence apparatus. Before his term is over, we will have another major terrorist attack on our soil, and he will be booted out of office after one, miserable term. But who will undo the damage he will have done?
On a positive note, at least he's taken the spotlight off of Hillary Clinton and given her something to worry about!
