Style vs. Substance So Kerry wins points on style, Bush on substance. Hmmm . . . seems like a no-brainer doesn't it? While I'm on the subject, Kerry compared his "mistake" on talking about the $87B he voted for and then voted against. Then he said, Bush made a mistake by getting us into the war in Iraq (a war Kerry supported, by the way) and then said "Which is worse?" Well, let's take that argument and transpose it to the Swiftboat vs. National Guard issue.
Now, let's suppose the accusations against BOTH men are true, OK? Here goes:
Bush is accused of using his father's influence ot get him into the Air Guard, ducking a physical, and not showing up for training for a few months.
Kerry is accused of padding reports of his heroic actions in Vietnam to win medals, overstating the nature of his wounds to win three Purple Hearts, returning to the US and accusing his fellow soldiers of being war criminals, and hurting POWs in the process with his statements.
