What gets you going? What subject do you really enjoy researching on and talking about? Then perhaps that should be the topic of your new book or short story.
That sparks that gets you interested in something cannot help but bring some enthusiasm into your writing. Don’t write about what you think people want to read just for the sake of writing something. If the topic doesn’t thrill you then that will translate into something that will be as interesting as watching paint dry to your audience.
Write about what thrills you. Write about what makes you smile and keeps you interested. That is what makes for the stuff that people will want to read- and tell their friends about. What gets you going? What subject do you really enjoy researching on and talking about? Then perhaps that should be the topic of your new book or short story.
