Sometimes The Scottish accent is misunderstood. A Wifes Blog. I have to put a little addition to my last blog, simply because of what happened tonight. I've NEVER had this happen before, and the timing was perfect. My daughter, son-in-law, and two grandaughters were over visiting again. Not a lot to do here in winter, and I also had some VERY exciting news to discuss with them (That will come later in another blog). I sometimes order pizza when they come over. Everyone likes it, it's quick, and I was really hungry. My stomach actually felt like it was eating itself It's about 8:30pm, getting quite late, so I go to make my call. "Thank you for calling Little Caesars, what would you like?" "Could I order three large pizzas and three orders of crazy bread....please" I answered. "Okay, could you give me the last name and telephone number?" the voice asks. It's Lounsbury, and the phone number is 253-****" I replied. "What kind of pizzas would you like?" she aks. "Two large pepperoni and one large onion" I reply. "Two large pepperoni and one large onion?" she asks in a questioning voice. "That's correct." "Do you only want onion on the onion pizza?" Now, I should have known by that question that this order was going to be difficult, but undeterred I answered "yes, I only want onion on the onion pizza." I hear rapid clicking in the background. "Okay, your total will be $16.48" she says. I have ordered pizza from this place many time so I know that this is incorrect. "I also want three orders of crazy bread. That total doesn't sound right." Oh, you want an order of crazy bread. In that case you total will be..." and proceeds to give me some other figure I know is still incorrect. "No, I want three orders of crazy bread." I say insistently. "Excuse me?" she replies. "I want THREE orders of crazy bread" I say almost pleadingly. I hear a few more click, clicks, and then she says, "hold on a second." I then hear her calling to someone else. "Hey, could you come over here and take this order, I don't understand what's she's saying?" She could have at least put her hand over the phone, but no, she doesn't care if I hear her, and she hurts my feelings, I tried really hard to be understood At this point I'm thinking, why does everything lately have to be so difficult? Not to mention my stomach now feels like it's totally consumed itself. I need food!! I fully expected to still have problems, but fortunately the woman who came on the line knew who I was and was able to complete the order in a timely fashion.
