Doppleganger and Things That go Bump in the Night
6/8/2007 7:56:41 PM

My wife and I have seen and heard some amazing things in life. Things that affirm that In Gods creation there are indeed some mysteries existing in this beautiful world. Entities that steal the shape of some pet perhaps? This is my wifes story.
Before I get into this story, I think the first thing I want to emphasize is, I'm not nuts, honestly I'm not. Three years ago, one of my Persian cats, Sonya, died. It really was quite unexpected as she was only 5 years old. One night she came down the stairs and collapsed in pain. Numerous trips to the vet and emergency vet, and several hundred dollars later, we were none the wiser as to what could possibly be wrong with her. She just got progressively weaker and thinner, and her fur actually turned grey. I had hoped this would be a major clue as to what was wrong, but no such luck and she died about 2 months after getting ill. Anyway, this brings me to my story. Since she died there have been numerous occasions where some really strange thinks have occurred. I can't remember them all exactly, but the ones that are clear in my mind, I'll tell you about. The first one happened approximately one month after she had died. I had borrowed my daughter's cat carrier when Sonya was sick to transport her on her many trips to the vet. After she died I left the carrier in my bathroom, near the toilet. One day, I was sitting on the toilet and my other Persian cat, Sasha, was in there with me. As I was sitting there I heard a noise coming from the carrier. I didn't imagine it as Sasha also came over to take a look. I thought for a second that it may be my other Persian cat, Sebastian, but as I leaned over and looked inside, there was nothing there. Another time I had just come home from having surgery. I told my husband that I was going to go and lie down as I was understandably not feeling too good. He came upstairs with me to make sure I was okay. After he left the bedroom, I was just getting comfortable, when I heard a noise in the bedroom. I automatically assumed one of the cats had got closed in there with me, and I didn't want to be jumped on (not the best thing after surgery). I yelled to my husband to please come and get the cat out of the bedroom. He came in the room and told me that there could not be a cat in there as the three of them were downstairs. The latest event that prompted the writing of this blog happened about a week ago. Every night, two of my cats, Sebastian and Solomon, come upstairs to bed with us. They lie with us for about 15 minutes or so and then I let them out. Just a routine we've had for a long time. That night I got up to let them out. Sebastian always lies at the foot of the bed, and Solomon lies at the top. Of course, the lights are off in the bedroom, so it's quite dark, but I have a night light on in the bathroom that lights up the hallway. I opened the bedroom door and touched Sebastian on his butt to make him leave. He jumped off the bed and ran out the door. I then see the figure of another cat, who I obviously assumed was Solomon, run out the door. I looked down the hallway and only saw Sebastian, which was a little odd as usually I always see the two of them in the hallway, but I just assumed he had ran off quicker that night. I came out of the bedroom, shutting the door behind me, went to the bathroom, and then went back to bed. Now the part that is strange is the fact that when my husband woke up the next morning, Solomon was lying on the floor beside the bed. I know for a fact two cats left the night before, one of them was Sebastian, but if Solomon was still in the bedroom, then what the hell was the other creature that had ran out of the door the night before (It was NOT my other cat, Sasha). There have been a lot more instances of strange stuff, like feeling something brush against your legs, but nothing is there, but I can honestly say that it really doesn't freak me out.
