Right now I have tears in my eyes, I’ve been laughing so hard. I was on myspace checking stuff out, and actually thinking about changing my default picture. I go back to my homepage and see the little red "new messages" envelope, so click on it to see what’s there (I love new messages). Now there is a message there from someone I actually thought was my son-in-law because they had the same name, and the picture was a drawing, something my son-in-law has been doing lately. I read the message and I immediately realize that it is not in fact my son-in-law. Instead of telling the story in my words, this is the exact message I received. "Hey Caroline, Great song on your page. Also I have to ask, were you an early 80s punk? You have that Sid looking attitude. I like it." I had a feeling he was talking about Sid Vicious, bass player of the English punk group, Sex Pistols. Now I normally don’t bother to answer messages I get from people I don’t know, not that I get a vast amount, but if I do it’s usually guys and a lot of the time, sexual in nature. However, this comment seemed fairly innocent so I had to reply. This is what I sent him "Actually no, I wasn't a punk :) I just happen to like Boz Scaggs, especially his "Silk Degrees" album. If you don't mind me asking, what is a "sid looking attitude?" Do I look mad and pissed off?? (hehe). To which he responds: "I am speaking of Sid Vicious. You just have that pissed off, I don’t care about you, look. I think it is so cool. I wouldn’t think Boz is punk tho but I like him too. Matter of fact, hearing that song made me look up Jay Furguson - Thunder Island. I liked that song too. Like I say, Im just an old punk living in the modern world." Of course I then proceeded to look up photos of Sid Vicious to see what he looked like. I think he may have had that lopsided smile like I do, but I hope he was meaning my expression and not that I actually LOOK like Sid Vicious. If that’s the case, I need help. Note Links Below
