Just when you think you want to whine and cry about some detail in life, you come across something that makes you stop for a moment to consider that somewhere someone is having a real crisis, one that necessitates the kind of energy you were about to expel. Thinking of others just when we want to think on ourselves the most, and in the most negative light, is the safety net we use to catch ourselves before we fall into a depression over what's not going our way for the day. And when we look at things from this point of view, it's a wake up call to get up and get busy. An idle mind is the devil's workshop, and the demon you think is so big and bad might actually be a small troll in comparison to the real monsters some have to deal with everyday, monsters that have no expiration and profoundly alter the quality of their owner's lives. Greater threats to existence than a passing moment of illness, disappointment, insecurity or whatever else might try to be a temporary thorn in your side. And with that, I begin my day - plucking out the thorn from my paw and getting about the business of my day. Peace!
