Messsage On A Winter's Day in the Middle of Summer 6/24/2008 3:54:01 AM
Today reigns heavy. The storm is not refreshing but violent. It comes down in softball size ice bombs crushing what's left of the young spring blossoms. There is no shelter. There is no relief. Only the pounding. Where are you, she whispered, and why did you have to go? There was no answer, only a message written in the snow. Frozen in her steps, she fell to her knees for in that moment the weight of all her sins became too heavy a load to bear. She'd poisoned her own garden out of love, too much insecticide trying to keep away the bugs. Now even the humming birds were too afraid to land. She griped a handful of snow and pressed it to her lips. Would there be any soil left to till when winter turns into spring again, she wondered as she wept tears that froze on impact.
