Last week I mentioned how All-things Paranormal are right up my alley, and I just wanted to clarify that statement. I am not a ghost hunter nor séance chaser nor paranormal investigator; I just look for the paranormal in everything we do...behind the scenes in synchronicities, serendipities, and the Twilight Zone-ish (love these the best!). I guess that would make the paranormal, ah, well, um...normal. And were that the normally accepted case I guess I’d be writing about something else, but as it happens, this is not yet an accepted “fact,” and there’s so much I can do with it and play around with in stories and articles...and blogs. I already believe in the paranormal--now, I may have different beliefs for the WHYs behind certain paranormal occurrences, but I still believe in the events (fakery notwithstanding). On my end, what I try to do is present different views for why things may or may not happen that stand apart from traditionally accepted means and beliefs:
Why do we sometimes feel we know someone when it’s the very first time we've met that person?
Why is there so much “evil” in the world?
What are UFOs?
This is what I try to deal with, to write about, to understand. Sure, I’ll deal with a couple Why is there a ghost here?, as well, but I’m not one to go about PROVING paranormal existences. I feel doing what I do can help myself and others gain a different perspective on life and all things in the Universe (Multiverse?!). Maybe lend a more open mindset to traditional thinking patterns. Heck, just get people to THINK.
I also just love to entertain.
Sometimes I’ll even write a story that doesn’t exactly fit into my Weltanschauung, but do it just cause it makes for a cool story--but I usually do stick to my beliefs.
And, yes, by the way, I did hear back from both Mike Coletta (ufogeek.com) and Pikes Peak Paranormal (apparently NOT to be confused with Pikes Peak Paranormal INVESTIGATIONS). Mike hopes to get back to me, and PPP and I did a fine spate of e-mails last weekend, and I’m going to take some time to think about their involvement. They reside in another city from where I live, and that adds to travel time were I to get involved, and my time is severely limited as it is, though I would like to do a “ride along” in some honest-to-(pick your deity) paranormal investigations. THAT would be really cool. I’ve seen the television shows, but I’d really like to be a part of some real-life investigations.
