Exopolitics--We Are Not Alone? 4/21/2009 2:30:47 AM
I am constantly amazed at the amount of effort and energy given to the world of the extraterrestrial. I am not all that heavy into it (except that now I’ve written one UFO novel manuscript and am currently undertaking another--but my interests mainly lie in the paranormal and the metaphysical, and how they tie together and can benefit our lives and explain life events--gee, did I just create my own mission statement?!), but every now and then I fall into yet another instance of people fighting for and promulgating the position that, yes, we are NOT alone.
Of course I can joke that, no kidding--there are some many billions of us crawling about a certain little “blue” planet #3 from he sun! Who’s alone?!
But beyond that, yes, there are definitely people out there standing up for “extraterrestrial rights.” Hence the term “exopolitics”...the definition of which is at the X-Conference link, below. But essentially, trying to influence or create a governmental policy dealing with extraterrestrials. I love it. I liken this fight to the religious: with all religions claiming to be the true and only one, they all can’t be true: with those “in the know” decrying that everything-ET is false, and those “in the know” decrying everything-ET is true they both can’t be right. Just as with religion, were one to instead say, “Well, this path is my BELIEF, not an absolute”--well, then we’re getting somewhere. Just like I don’t decry the religious-minded their beliefs, I don’t decry the so-called ET detractors or believers from their beliefs. But you can’t have diametrically opposite absolutes such as what is going on here. It just doesn’t make sense.
No, they absolutely do not exist.

Deny, deny, deny, even once confronted with the evidence--granted, evidence that seems to be at the crux of the matter.
What evidence?
Well, apparently, exactly what people like those at this X-Conference, had discussed this past weekend (I always seem to be a day late, and a dollar short...), in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I just found out about this from a friend a of mine who sent me the CNN link.
You know, it’s funny, but as Humans we all seem to live in such absolutes. It’s either this or that, and no in-between. Why must this be? How do we profess to KNOW everything? Why can’t we be open minded to say, well, what I’ve experienced so far is this and that--but, hey, you know...there are so many other WEIRD things out there that seem to defy my previous experience. Perhaps there is something else out there....
And here you have it. A group of “In-The-Know” individuals gathering together to discuss a cool new “exopolitic” and say, heck ya, there ARE some weird and wondrous new experiences out there and there are those that are interfering with this experience for some reason.
One can only deny for so long.
Again, not to play both sides, here, but I do understand the need for some secrecy, some classified issues...but it really makes me wonder...why the heck does the government hold such an unyielding, ABSOLUTE position on anything, let’s say “exopolitic” (I love that term!)?
