The Supernatural and All Things Weird 5/6/2008 2:56:46 AM
Well, I shipped off my previously completed manuscript (ms) to an agent yesterday. My gritty supernatural murder mystery set in south Florida. This particular agent not only requested this ms, but almost my more recent UFO one, which will be sent after this one is read.
Surprisingly--or not so surprisingly--rereading this murder mystery continued to keep my interest. It deals with reincarnational angst, as I like to call it. What if there is a reason why so certain “heinous events” occur, reasons we’ll never know because we’re so wrapped up in the superficial, the “surface tension” of life. Too wrapped up in cell phones, salaries, and dirty diapers? What if we looked deeper into ourselves and LISTENED. There are voices in there, quiet voices with powerful messages trying to tell us something. Get our attention. Life is so wonderful, so incomprehensibly VAST, I just find it hard to believe that we live one and only one life. What a waste of energy! Talk about no pressure! There is so much to experience and to learn that it just makes sense that we live more than one life, and even in more than one dimension. Just take a look at the light spectrum. I was in a doctor’s office last year, and in this waiting room were all these really cool pictures on the wall. I asked the nurse/admin what they were and she told me that they were pictures of ordinary things but in different wavelengths. For instance, there were ultraviolet photos of, say, a tree, or a runner. We see this tree in one wavelength of light, but there are also so many other wavelengths in which we cannot see. And you know what? Sometimes things look REALLY weird in these other perspectives...so much so that I simply could not recognize what they were.
This is what I’m talking about.
Just because we can’t [physically] see something, does not mean it doesn’t exist. Isn’t there.
That’s what I write about. What COULD BE in the background. Why some thing MIGHT happen. To think OUTSIDE the box.
That’s what my supernatural murder mystery--and UFO and everything else I write--is about. Why might mass murders happen? What must UFOs be all about that hasn’t been considered or written before? Why-why-why...what IF?
Well, at least that’s the theory--the ATTEMPT--anyway.
