What's the difference between the two. Curious what everyone is reading these days. Has the pandemic changed your reading habits, maybe to inspirational and escape, or maybe the opposite, to horror and disaster? Mine haven’t. Over the past year I’ve read the many books about the Trump administration and his rise to power and also mystery/thriller books like those by Lee Child. I have just started Barack Obama’s “A Promised Land” along with a mystery/thriller by Andrew Grant, Lee Child’s brother and co-author of his latest Jack Reacher adventure. Which raises another question. Do you tend to write the same type of books as you read? I certainly don’t. I have no interest in researching a non-fiction book and don’t have the wherewithal to do a mystery/thriller. Writing enables me to create characters looking for answers when there are no answers, when the answers don’t matter, or when the answers will only become clear as time goes on. For me, reading instructs and relieves, writing expresses feelings and imagination. I maintain a strict line between them.
