A story of make-believe, or is it The children have been especially happy of late, maybe getting in their final kicks of summer or maybe because they are especially happy eating donuts of which there is always an ample supply, one in each hand, and dancing to "We Are Family."
Sterling has an affinity for anything chocolate and butterscotch but doesn't stop there. Adorned in a floppy white chef's hat, he loves to barbecue sausage and hamburgers for the children and is assisted nobly by Lucky and Moth. At other times he makes pancakes, which he insists are to be called cancakes, big enough to fill a dinner plate and slathered in maple syrup, he and his brothers and sisters partaking in the joy of being young and never growing up. On all such festive occasions, his beloved sister Marie kisses him on the cheek in gratitude.
Over at the Ark and Ardenwood all is well, these communities of harmony and bliss presided over by Lucky who never ceases to think and to plan. He welcomes newcomers all the time, beings left out or injured or deceased who find new life and peace in his domains. Just ask Shparrow and Blackie and Beaw and so many more.
