This works!!! Kudos to eHow.com...Fossman. I'm out of the jungle. Every little bit helps when we avoid pesticides.

Bye Bye Fruit Fly

I went into the grocery store to buy myself bananas

But I brought home some bugs that were straight from the savannas

The next day while watching golf and drinking several beers

I couldn’t help but notice a strange buzz in my ears

Not from the peaceful hum of soothing alcohol

But from a bunch of tiny gnats buzzing in the hall

They wouldn’t go away and were impossible to swat

So small they flew right through the fruit fly swatter’s slot

I went into the kitchen to see from whence they came

And was shocked to find the fruit flies had laid their evil claim

To my fruity little basket that lost its healthy focus

To a nasty swarming plague of banana eating locusts

They’d fly into my nostrils and they’d aggravate my eyes

They’d land upon my forehead and attack my apple pies

I couldn’t use a poison spray to kill the fruit flies dead

Cause’ they swarmed upon the counter where I rolled my daily bread

So I asked the mighty Google if he might have a clue

And the mighty site responded with exactly what to do

Place apple cider vinegar in a cup with a drop of soap

Stir and watch the little buggers give up all of their hope

I would never have believed it, but I swear that it is true

Sometimes you just don’t need the “Raid” to give a bug its due

They abandoned the bananas and the sweet ripe melons too

To take a swim in fruit fly gin, cider magic through and through
