I often sit and wonder,
aren't we all a little daft?
Then slowly start to ponder
and exhale a hearty laugh.

So much is placed before us
how can one absorb it all?
If your pot were to be empty
would the apple cart dare fall?

We may teeter some or stumble
but I doubt we'd even care
when the waiter brought the menu
if he called it bill of fare.

There are those indeed who try
to go against the grain,
when all their marbles are strung out
they're really all the same.

Do words fit to your expression,
is manner whom your are ;
Or is every verse just like the first
lost on Planet Mars?

If the owl wasn't wise,
do you think he'd give a hoot ?
When a hunter's on safari,
don't he bring his gun to shoot?

Yes, some are lost within themselves,
while others seem to have it all
but it really doesn't matter
when your back's against the wall.

Just observe those all around you,
don't think they give a damn,
if all you had for breakfast
was plain old toast and jam.

Some may try to prove me wrong
with their hands upon their hips.
Until they do I'll sing this song
while strumming on my lips.

It's my pleasure just to know you
 don't think me such a loon,
that once a month, when after dark,
I bark, when I see the moon.
