From where I am At
My feelings run deep
I lay in hot sun
I drift.

Back to the times
I used to walk the streets
Somewhere down the line
In better days within my mind.

A northern cool wind
Chilled my soul
But the sight
Of dried autumn leaves.

Swirling in an invisible vortex
Slowly soaring up and down
Mesmerizing me
Preparing the way.

For the rest of the kaleidoscope
To fall from the foilage
Of nature's rendition
Of a winter to come.

The first snow flake
Of the season
I must capture in my tongue
As I've done
Since I can remember
My sister doing it once.

The hammock I lay
Stops swaying
I wipe a tear
My frozen margarita
Needs refilling.
