Dawn Of Time

At the dawn of time

Music did not soothe

The breast

Of the savage beast

But the Satisfaction

Of hunger pangs.

~*~

 

There were no Time schedules

As time is know today

For their clocks were set

With every beat of their hearts.

~*~

 

No song ever soothe

The savage breast

But the heart’s rhythm

Of the dying prey

It held within its teeth

As the beast

Struggle to compose itself.

~*~

 

No melody ever soothe

The savage breast

But the sound of every lick

The beast rendered

As she stimulated her new born

Upon the sunrise

Of the Dawn of time.

The beast rendered
As she stimulated her new born
Upon the sunrise

This last stanza says it all. Nice poem with gentle flow and a music woven within the very fabric of its own beauty
