Wet & Dry

Some might say
This is our monsoon season
Wake with a sunrise
High and dry
And get hit with rain storms
Countless of times a day
But wet we wont stay
Cause good old sol
Pops up now and then.

I do love the rain
If I get caught in it so be it
I’ll walk it off
Wet as a fish on a Friday
Hoping
A passing lightning storm
Wont light up my aft.

Best part of this curse
Is that I wont need to water
The garden plants
Saw that old resident hawk
Chilling out
Perched atop my
Screen enclosure allowing
Nature to pelt his beautiful
Feathers
Took it like the king
Of the sky he is.

When the rain ceased
He dove, banking right
Snatching an amphibian
On his way home to his nest
I thought
Ah! Bringing home the bacon.

We have had relatively cool weather for late July and early August so far...but I hope there are more times ahead for warmer weather, it always makes me appreciate the cooler weather...& what's a little rain, as long as the roof don't leak and the creek don't rise...e

Well said William! In fact, it's a unique poetic song. Not many folks can relate to nature so well. Great insight!

Peace be with you,

I definitely love the rain as well, Bill...here in sunny California it doesn't come as much as I would like. Great writing as always.

"If I get caught in it so be it"

It's just H2O and not H2SO4 anyway.
What's the worry?

I hear you William, loud and clear. It is the same thing down here in the swamp. We have hot days with numerous thunderstorms that cool things off for awhile. Crazy weather, not your typical summer.
