War Ghosts Knocking At My Door

Past Traumatic Stress Disorder the doctors say
I keep trying to keep those war ghosts knocking at my iron gate door at bay
But those innocent women and children we killed in that village haunt me to this day
It was so confusing at the time our guns just kept firing into the misty haze
We deserve to go to hell for what we did during that raid
But Hell can’t be worse than feeling a knife pierce my back everyday
I could blame those murders on those masters of war who sent the orders to invade
But really there is only one person on earth to really blame
I let God be the judge of me, the one who pulled the trigger and I feel all the shame
I did not ask for this place in life, but I do accept all the fame
