Some rocks are for sitting and some are for play
Don't take life 'for granite', you may get your way
Instead hear all others, let them have a say
***********************

A boulder sat overlooking the ocean.
People climbed on him, sat, took him for granite.
For Granite (who craved adventure) quietly sat.
His first mate, a rolling stone, called him, "Oh, Ben!"
but perhaps that was because she was quite stoned.
Granite wanted children so she left ... he sat.
Nights rolled, passed away, love (again) came his way.
Ima gathered moss and stole his, poor Granite!
Ima split, he dreamt of Hawaii but sat.
Pebbles came and went--not serious ... for play.
He wanted to travel with baggage For Granite
but nothing seemed to move him so he just sat.
Don't Take Me scooted closer and fell for him.
All their little off-spring loosed big For Granite.
He fell from the ledge to the beach ... then just sat.
They scattered off-spring till the waves took them in.
Don't Take Me followed, third mate of Granite.
In awe of Hawaii, both rocks simply sat.
Granite saw what was coming, hot lava flow,
all that Don't had done he'd taken for Granite.
He, groaning, MOVED her, but engulfed he just sat.
"To stay in Hawaii is not your dream. Go!"
He succombed to heat which took him, For Granite.
She'd no life of her own ...

Don't Take Me just sat.
