It's a humorous prayer by a child, my grandson, Doogie :)!
******************
In 1999, building our home in Prineville, Oregon,
the rain was a pain;
hubby would complain …
then our grandson said:
“God, You forgot and left the faucet open and that is quite bad.
We’re building our pad
but Grandpa is mad.
Can’t paint in the rain.”
“Honey, God is just giving the thirsty earth a drink a very long drink;
our ladders sink … sad,
but we need rain bad.
“God,” our grandson said:
“Look! Puddles everywhere! You are just making mud, things are playing.
“We’ll water the grass
if we move in fast!
Can’t paint in the rain.
Bet Your Grandma and Grandpa aren’t proud, didn’t do as You should …
flooded the neighborhood.
Can You send the sun
so we can have fun?”
When the sun began to shine, a smile spread over his face … divine.
We have peace of mind
when we stop to pray.
Let sun shine your way!
Beautiful prose - very well-written ... greatly enjoyed!

Sandy, this is such a refreshing break to look through the eyes of a young child since we adults seem to forget how simple we can keep things without even trying. Very enjoyable read. Thanks for sharing it.
