Nan Tuck It

Stealing isn't funny but when one sister always takes the rap for the 'bad' one (whose name is Nan), it's kind of cute ... especially when Nan gets caught!
********************

Nan's always sneaky
(she calls me squeaky)
and her fingers stick;
she takes rather quick.
I told them she swiped it; hid it under her blouse.
Sis called me a liar, others called me a louse.
(Truly Nan tuck it; peep in her bucket!)

Not ordinary
she flim-flams, cheery.
Nan is quick, smart,
beauteous, sneaky.
Ev'rywhere I would go, Nan would follow me slow.
Me, ne'er out of sight; couldn't folks see my plight!
(Truly Nan tuck it; look in her bucket!)

Nan's way of stealing
was by appealing
to other's quite weak ...
(she so dislikes meek).
Saw a fabulous doll, Nan made a scene, did fall.
When they fetched water, doll disappeared. Caught her!
(Truly Nan tuck it! Where could I put it?)

We were just sisters
but like some twisters
each went our own way.
Nan? What can I say?
Christmas morning last year someone screamed loud and clear.
All the gifts were unwrapped, the tree rubbish, ransacked.
I swear ... it wasn't me but was punished. Oh, gee!

Nan aged, stayed the same
did deeds ... gave me blame.
Socially adept
off heels folks were swept.
As we grew up and old, Nan's stealing was more bold.
I was the 'twisted' one; she merely came for fun.
Truly Nan tuck it! Who would believe it?

Nan grew more greedy,
her eyes thinned, beady.
She wouldn't cease, stop,
though ev'ry crime flops.
We shopped a brand new store. I bought, Nan wanted more.
Nan swelled up, 'pregnant', security stood ready.
Caught as she tucked it! Recorded, believed it!

Told ya! Nan tuck it!
