Changing times, nature, greed, live-and-let live, faith: we are the only species constantly malcontent!
Dandelions of the Sand
Ferciously winds ferret
diamonds mixed in mounds
that sift in the desert
shifted by earths' sneezes.
Felucca wavers in the waves--
two sails full, engaged--
delving in for treasure--
dandelions of the sand.
Capriciously lizards creep
watching cacti quiver, full,
of new, hungry, scorpions.
They burst in their dominion
to rule the burnish glimmers.
Pirates ride, claiming the waves,
three sails full, engaged--
clamoring for treasure ...
dandelions of the sand.
Cacti prickle the sand, traps
those who'd snare innocence.
Nature has means of her own!
Both ships drift and sink in sand;
she drowns their fastest swimmers.
Nature shimmers, crowned, by waves
where no sails or men belong.
Crowds aren't wanted or needed--
treasure shimmers, golden sand.
Nature's treasure isn't man's!
This is book 2 of my new fantasy trilogy, The Twins of Moon. As Quimbre warns Eefa, 'No world is more riddled with secrets than the eldritch waters we now blithely sail.' Here in the Sea of Stars the twins discover their extraordinary true destiny.
