Tongue-in-cheek humor about a friend of the librarians who bought an eighteen wheeler but didn't read the fine print.
*******

Poem Artwork

From a caterpillar dealer,
the lady bought an eighteen wheeler
in which to share her library.
Signed, without paying attention,
to the eighteen things of mention.
She got a worm! What a quandry.
It won't even hold her laundry!

But, that little eighteen wheeler
snatched some truck keys from the dealer.
It was wrong and they're both sorry.
That worm was hooked on diction, fiction,
perfers limited editions!
They scurried to those house-bound folks
to share their stories, laugh at jokes.

That caterpillar fainted, swooned,
hospitalized, Mac soon cocooned.
He got cards from Karen and Reg
but went down fast, was on his last leg.
"Metamorphed," a butterfly said.
"That dealer's a legal stealer."
He flew, brought Sue. "Another reader!"

I now deal in caterpillars.
They may morph but, they're great readers!

We had for the longest time, the Mobile Book Centre, an eighteen Wheeler of course, used to frequent all the schools and peddle books lol.
So she got more than she bargained for, what a selling tool. Bookworm Mascot.
How many legs has a caterpillar?
:) Cute, and witty, loved it.
