Hubby had a coffin obsession
and saw the doctor for a session.
“Coughin’s normal though I sneeze often.
This syrup will loosen your coughin’.”
Hubby said, “Let this be a lesson
coffin’s are cool!”
(He’d lost a ‘spool’.)
He bought a wooden one, inscribed . . .
was using the medicine prescribed.
This syrup should help ease my coffin
so he smeared it quite often --
helped move it so easy. Doc hadn’t lied.
Oh, what a fool!
(In the gene pool.)
He wanted a coffin built for two.
“We’ll share eternity . . . me and you!”
I’d no desire to join him
(the way he saw life was grim).
Termites are cruel;
made it gruel.
He cried so much, he started coughin’.
further devasting his coffin.
Some of our dreams aren’t meant to come true .
He was so choked up, he turned blue.
Coughin’ in coffins; how often
can one hear them spew?
Run . . . when’er you do!
