Veggie or vegetarian?

Poem Artwork

I am quite the tomato . . .
luxurious, succulent,
honed, my figure is perfect,
and I await compliment.
Don’t pinch my skin! Honestly
I’m as fragile as can be.
My flesh is smooth, no blemish.
One look, you’ll remember me.
I’m mature--no longer green . . .
come be dazzled by my sheen.
I am quite the tomato . . .
no more clinging to the vine.
A luscious beauty divine,
I’ve stolen hearts . . . yours will be mine!
After you weed the garden,
destroy the slugs, banish rot,
I will devour the sunshine . . .
truly the Queen of the lot!
I’m admired. Hear the whistles?
Hey! (Slap!)
Don’t take a bite . . . that bristles!

Good grief! A truly clever, readable, even profound poem about a vegetable? You've done it! and in glorious style.. I'm just tickled to see this.. I'm quite prepared to believe that in your talented hands, anything could be fascinating, if you write it. Just wonderful! katy.
