Arch hid because of his ‘extentions’;
(some in places beyond all mention).
He was a fantastic invention
for the mail handlers convention.
His features were spooky,
his voice a bit hicky,
his balance was tricky.
Arch hid because he was spinning web
with a little newcomer named Deb.
Arch whispered silky things when in bed—
ev’rything he said went to his head.
In quite the position,
without competition,
his reel life was fiction.
Arch hid, knowing he had one season
and then he would pass . . . without reason.
He wanted to be a creator
here and now—couldn’t do it later.
Viscous fluid hardened,
(begging ladies’ pardon)
fed him, he fell . . . dead-end.
A naïve councilman and a down-on-her-luck single mom try to save their county’s last stand of forest from greedy developers and a dysfunctional government.
