There’s a squirrel in my piano
that’s nibbling a fine tune
of cords that make me swoon.
With a hairy tail . . . wide . . .
he is striking the keys
with pungency. Oh, please!
There’s a squirrel in my piano
that doesn’t know the songs
I play, but he thumps along.
We’re happy together
in true companionship . . .
we are joined in de’ hip!
