Pick A Nose

Pick a nose,
any nose,
wipe it. Please don’t flick it.
Some are huge;
others small
but become us all.
They pick up scent,
cause us torment,
noses wide
or narrow.
They are something not to borrow—
yesterday, today, tomorrow.

Pick a nose,
any nose,
unstuffed is much preferred.
White-headed covered,
acne black,
we can’t send them back.
Spectacles would
slide off our hood
the sun blind
sunglassless eyes.
We’d be hindered to not exhale—
but sometimes … oh, that smell!

Pick a nose,
any nose,
be grateful for those holes.
Some are pink, brown,
they sneeze profound,
but somehow they’re centered.
On our faces
there are places
where gills could thrive
we’d be water-bound
and stuck unwater for a spell.
Love our noses; they’re swell

I wonder what inspired this, but I wouldn't want to be nosey.
I'm sorry, that stunk.
But you made a lot of scents.
I'm sure this will win "Best pick."
John
