fell into a garden patch
picked myself up, had a rash--
red itches--wouldn't you know?
scratched here ... rubbed there ...
itches in my underwear
I declare!
what I'm fearin' most of all
is that ears, kernelled, will grow tall
red itches--surely you know?
the rash spoke up, said, "lettuce
give you a toss, crusty, that's us.
trust, I swear!"
I turned into tomato
fully red--from head to toe.
(do you want an issue to go?)
red itches--wish it weren't so
round and bare.
in a salad bowl, quite green
red itches sometimes look quite mean
red itches are round and hard;
they grow abundant in yards
without care.
fell into a garden patch,
got myself a scarlet rash,
felt I needed some dressing
green and lofty--impressing--
red itches grow.
