One day,
My mood assumes the color of winter grass,
And contains all the brittleness of burnished glass.
This is a day
Between rising and setting.
When the full moon finally descends;
As the full sun slowly ascends.
One day becomes another;
Our moods swing between elation and misery;
All at the expense of whimsical destiny.
One day at a time
Merges to create a rhythmic chime.
Each day bears witness to its own blossom;
Life assembles a corsage truly awesome.
Life is a passing river,
That pours over us, then into us,
Drop by drop to become a current,
That carves a world in this unique scene.
Life’s color changes with the coming of spring;
Winter grass will soon bleed green.
When the rains come, the grass will sing.
All is not lost,
There springs new life in the roots.
It stretches and pulsates,
As it prepares to grow into shoots.
In the tree tops, the swallows await
The coming of the dawn,
That lies upon the winter grass
With all the gentleness of a fawn.
This poem is utterly beautiful!! It amazes me how the grass stays green during the winter! This poem so perfectly describes the cycle of life and the universe.
Thank u for this outstanding nature piece
Reminds me of a day I drove pass a snow blinding covered field
I awed at a distraction that imprinted an image in my mind
A Red Cardnal chasing another past my windshield
Took but a second left me with a poem within my thoughts.
Peace be with you
we all are cariboos to dig in deeper for the grass in the wintertime and relax in the short spring/summer. . . this northern proportion of 8:2, 7:3 or so (depends on the district) reflects our life pressure for all, without exception. A good piece but is far from your top-gun ;)) Cheers, alex
You have pursued our moods quite expertly. And what make it all the more interesting is when you said, “One day becomes another;” That then is the kicker. For we can go to bed in a foul mood and awake in the morning greeting the world with smiles all around. Nice work . . . As usual.

This too shall pass. In the grand scheme of things
Nature holds the upper hand. Well written.
