Fireflies By John Herlihy From humble beginnings Unto inglorious endings. The shy insect takes wing, Wondrous mystery to bring. Trailing those sparks of fire, All the universe to inspire. The night dare not chastise, The luminous flare of fireflies. Magic and mystery to instill, Into children�s hearts to thrill. Night�s darkness to diminish, Their destiny they never finish. Their cold light ushers in twilight, To warm hearts in the dark night.
