By far winters beach is much better, but summer has its attractions too...

Poem Artwork

Winters Beach…

Not too far of a reach,

To imagine winters beach,

Becoming summers beach in a few short months,

But for me, I find myself, to do a big grunt,

As winter gives way to summer, the people do come,

Come they do, to do their beach things,

Some to sit in the sun,

Some to walk the waters edge,

Some like me do come; for shells we do hunt…

Winters beach is much better for a shell hunt,

Fewer tracks, less footprints, mean less broken shells,

As you can see by the picture, the ocean is rough,

High tide mark where the jetty ends at the water,

Winter storm just passed, waves so huge, won’t last long,

Good day to go out and surf the cold winter sea, almost gone…

Yes, even for me, dreams of summers heat and warm water walks,

Are dancing in my mind, my love of winter has this year waned,

Summer months so short, at most three, sometimes fall coming drained,

Warmer waters in fall, lend to the shore, a reverence, never do I balk…

Winter beach, has its attractions, as does summer,

Winter is the best by far,

My beliefs, they are in regards…
