Taking Back Her Beach

On the beach yesterday, so wonderful a day, any day sharing Nature is wonderful...

Taking Back Her Beach…

Sitting on the beach,

My sandbar island gettin’ thin,

Less space for me my chair and book,

Ole’ mom ocean wants of my book a look,

Minnows do abound, as the sea does take its hold,

Of that of my private island, I would never have sold,

Every half day, the sea does take back,

Real estate it has loaned to the humans, imagine that!

Sitting on the beach,

At the waters edge so cool,

Unable to see past the oncoming surf,

The beach taken back from human hands so cruel,

The ocean reclaiming its “hood”, yes, it’s turf…

Seems “my ocean” is an Indian giver,

I beg on my knees & still receive just a cold shoulder shiver,

Taken from me is my private island,

Till the next time, half a day,

I do get back my little piece of sand,

When that time does come,

I will also return to take my place, allowed by the sea, she will deliver…

At least the ocean is willing to share her turf with you, Ed, at least for brief moments. She truly is a marvel.

Love your little pics!

Dear Ed,

We all need to learn to *share* and not keep taking, what isn't ours to take anyway.

Well penned.
Warm hugs

Wonderful write on my favorite subject Ed...the beach. At least the tide is turning there. Here in South Carolina, the sea is not as forgiving as some of the barrier islands are forever returning to the sea. Fantastic piece.
