An offhanded Nature write, with a bit of humor enclosed, hope you like!
THE RAIN COMETH, or monsoon season starts in NJ… More rain predicted for the next five days, Who said we were in a drought situation, no suns rays, Every season of the sun, yes summer that is, we are told this one, That drought is upon us, we have to conserve, forget washing cars, Share your shower with someone you love, no ice in your drinks at the bars… Flooding predicted I could understand, Swollen rivers and streams overflowing their banks, My sewer tank was just pumped, overflows it does, so thanks, No worries of fires in the northeast, New Jersey in particular, Enough rain here to share with the hot spots in the country, Rain falling now, those clouds they ain’t firing blanks… But for the first day or so, the rain is kinda fun, Walking out in it, keeping a bit cooler, coming home on a run, Rufuz does hate to get wet, it seems, wishes does he for the sun, Nature, not to be outdone, will allow rain for the next few days and then some, Till the human population will request and desire from Nature, no more reruns… © ed ~ 7/23/04

they have monsoons in new jersey? i didn't know that

all we have is wall to wall sunshine...maybe late tonight and over the weekend, we'll have some thunderstorms, thanks to a rare cold front *thanks*--needed a break from the heat

i know what you mean. i love the first sound of thunder but hate most of what follows here in the midwest...too much of whatever we get, be it heat, rain or storms, we just get too damned much of it...

I love the liquid sunshine but fair warning....the mold spores and mildew are two parts of constant dampness that I don't relish.
Fun poem. Fun to read.
