Nature, of sorts...

Poem Artwork

Summers Over, Surfs no longer Up…

Summers over, no more surfin’ do I do,

No more swimmin’, and water ski’s I do not need,

Now that the cooler climes have arrived,

I start to pray for summer and surfin’ all over again…

My love of the beach and ocean never does wane,

But winters weather does sometimes make me insane,

I cannot stand to be separated from my sea,

An old hippy and surfer is all I will ever be…

Watching surf flicks just does not cut it,

They do remind me of summer, I feel like sh**,

Wet suits are not made for those the size of me,

Wish I could just follow the sun and the surf; that would be for me, the key…

Just think, Eddie M... if the Atlantic froze, you could skate over to Ireland! Cool, eh? (em... cold!)

I, for one, would love to have some updates on what the big, ole Atlantic looks like and what it does in the coldest times. I really have no idea... but I just know it would excite me. Sigh... keep me, all of us posted, ok? Thanks... katy xox. p.s. your tootsies warm enough, so far? (smile)

Never was brave enough .... like to swim in the ocean though ... nice to hear that you haven't lost the joy of chasing the 'big one'...surf on, dude .... are there woolen wet suits for winter? ...with matching scarves?...

Enjoyed reading ....

I never made it past being a grimmy 'cause I thought the knots on my knees were becoming too unattractive. Head on down to Florida or Baja, the water stays warm there year around. Oh darn, I forgot about that work thing...kind of is like an anchor, huh?
Take care,
Sherry
