A Short Treatise on Winter Weather…

Won’t be growing anytime soon any heather,

Birds do grow extra in the winter feathers,

People do where in the cold jackets of leather,

I don’t know where to go, what to do or whether…

Snow on the horizon and predicted,

The geese do fly south; they have been evicted,

To this winter weather I doubt I will become addicted,

When young I did love the cold,

Now I find that I, myself, have contradicted…

Cold for quite a bit longer,

What does not kill us; makes us all the stronger,

No more in the summer will I complain of the heat,

Happy am I, I do not live on the cold concrete street…

I am glad you don't have to live on the street either. That ain't no fun having a good dog though you can't beat that.

That's the stuff, Eddie M... be glad you and Ruffie have a cozy home... (and a computer to post your award-winning thoughts). In every situation it is fair to say "things could always be worse"... think of your yin/yang: without winter and cold and snow, the spring and summer would never hold such joy, by comparison. Give me 4 distinct seasons every time! If you look for the "upside"... you'll find it! (smile) katy xox. (was that enough "Merry Sunshine" for ya, huh? hehehehe...

Ed, winter weather wouldn't be so bad if you put some clothes on before going outside.

I just came from mountains of snow;-).I go to visit the snow ,but glad it's warm where I live, in CA. Your last line shows your heart of compassion Ed, and I agree I'm so thankful too!

Happy am I, I do not live on the cold concrete street…

Amen to that, my friend; we should all count our blessings this winter; and we should all try to help the less fortunate - it's estimated that there are 3 million homeless men, women, and children in this country. And, of course, millions of unwanted, neglected, severely abused, and abandoned pets.
