When a leaf does fall…

A falling leaf is a reminder,

Of better times past, when life was kinder,

Remember too that it does tell you,

Your presence is long overdue…

When a leaf does fall,

A thought of you is being recalled,

I know this for a fact as truth,

For I learned it quite easily in my youth…

When fall does upon us come,

Many leaves do fall,

To the coming of winter the trees do succumb,

Each and every leaf we do rake,

Is there for a memory just for our sake…
