A Tree in the Woods Did Die…

Rotted through to the core,

Wonder if it felt sore,

A high wind did approach,

The tree did crack and fall,

Therein on mans world did it encroach…

My dog did use it on occasion,

This night he did treat it with evasion,

He knew as well as I,

This tree did succumb to Mom Natures persuasion…

Man will cut her up and use the wood,

Not a part will remain but her roots where she stood,

She withstood the test of time, but termites used her for food,

I appreciate being around when her life it did conclude…

I seldom do this, preferring my own babblings, (egads!) BUT... I think Roger put it perfectly, here. This is, indeed, wonderful, Eddie M. Pensive, gentle, a quiet view of your dear heart. katy xox

As nature forced her to the ground the tree knew this was just a new begining; feeding the ground for the future. Wonderful write.

As she probably appreciated you taking the time to notice her ultimate sacrifice for many earthly creatures.

Points to ponder: Did it make a noise when she fell if there was no one around?
