The wind outside blowing as if we were in a wind tunnel,

Though if it were inside I would be more upset,

The snow swirling as if in small tornadoes,

Walking tonight would be beyond my mindset…

The walls not thick enough to retain heat,

Let alone keep out the cold and blowing snow,

The heater does its best to keep us warm,

We watch out the windows as the snow level does grow…

Howling in the distance, is it the wind,

Or are we sharing our wooded retreat with wolves,

For now we won’t find out, for in our home we are confined,

Actually the snow has our exit quite pinned…

The dog growling, he knows it is not the wind,

In the shadows of the trees they pass by,

Hoping they are for food to be nearby,

I should have put out some dog food for them,

I hope they come back tomorrow night,

Hopefully when I am asleep and in full REM…

Then for the dog and I, we both can run with the wolves,

In our dreams we can run free and be part of the pack,

The dog the alpha all in black, I just one who does follow,

But to be a part of the wolf pack,

We can both feel the part of the god, Apollo…

Then for the dog and I, we both can run with the wolves,
In our dreams we can run free and be part of the pack,

A marvelous dream, my friend.

PS When Rebecca kicks me out, and I head for the woods with all my critters, would you and Rufuz like to join our pack? I think we're heading for northern Minnesota - not many people up there.
