I miss so much my ocean & surrounding environs...e

Poem Artwork

Sometimes its as though I suffer,

This need is always there,

Its a need to see my sea,

A place where I can near Nature be...

Feeling the sand between my toes,

The ocean is still quite cold,

But no matter, I am never when there old,

This not having my car on the road really blows...

Maybe someone will on me take pity,

And drive me to the beach place I crave,

It will recharge my internal batteries,

It is a place I truly about rave...

I feel insanity at the edges of my being,

For I am so close yet so away far,

It is for me very freeing,

I worship my ocean through pictures,

From quite a distance, and from afar...

water will always be a part of who you are, and we, the readers are grateful to you for sharing this part. I remember how it felt not to have wheels. I pray that someone is close enough to give you the ride that you request :-)

Over the tree tops I see the seas from my window like a Siren calling, come...come...come...and I am there.

Yes, I live and I am surrounded by the sea here in Nova Scotia, my apartment looks out on the North Atlantic. I have frollicked on her shores, scuba dived below her surface, sailed on her tides and ate of her bounty (love my seafood). As a young man I had my chances to go West to seek my fortune as many of my friends did but the sea refused to allow it...I am thankful.

That is why I love and could never leave old Blighty. Landlocked folk are 70 miles max' from the sea. I used to think living 20 miles from the sea was a fair old distance. Until I went to the states. Peeps had never seen the sea!!!!

Great write. You gotta go get beside the seaside.

I never saw the ocean until I was 19, at first I was afraid, but than it was so awesome. If this is where you grew up, I understand my you miss it.

I can closely relate to what you have expressed within your verses here, Ed. I find this very moving. I have a poem posted here at AD entitled, "Near The Sea I Breathe" which expresses much the same theme. Love and peace to you my friend,

Regis

I enjoyed this, and I totally empathise with you. The Ocean recharges my batteries too...and there's nothing quite like that 'sand between your toes' feeling...I hope you get back there vry soon...

Hugs, Diana..
