SORT of Nature...?

Poem Artwork

I really love the tree called a palm,

From it I think comes a lip balm,

The only tree to survive after Agent Orange,

In those bad old years during Vietnam…

I guess because I never do of them see,

They are in southern states nearer the sea,

Places I have hardly ever gone,

The closest I’ve gotten is while laying & fantasizing on my lawn…

I know they wouldn’t grow here,

Of the snow & cold they would have a fear,

I have no green thumb, in fact its damn near black,

I wouldn’t be able to grow grass unless it grew on its own,

Of growing anything my abilities surely do slack…

Let me save you some grief. Fan palms are giant weeds! Yeah they look cool and remind you of the beach but they devour saw blades and still require constant trimming and poke the shit out of you doing so. Stick to Chia pets, they respect you in the morning. Patrick

Nature's Preacher PeeWee will yet convert you to one of his green disciples, I think it is time I get me a weed-whacker!

My lovely spouse didn't think she had a green thumb either, until I taught her. Planting and Gardening are both wonderful, rewarding pastimes, Bro. Do a little 'digging' and find out what plants, trees, shrubs, flowers, and veggies do well in your neck of the woods, and get on out there, and try it!!! (Growin some of your own fruits and veggies saves tons of money, too. And planting indigenous trees and shrubs helps native birds and wildlife.)

Don't be so hard on yourself, Ed. I'm sure you're good at other things. I don't cook but I do love to grow trees and this is a fine area to do that. Love and peace to you,

Regis
