Humanities Footprint…

Poem Artwork

His footprint upon our earth,

Is far from what he is worth,

He builds on our open land,

And destroys our planet open hand…

I walk on my beach,

To relieve stress & to myself teach,

Of how mans does even in winter spread dirt,

Plastic & glass, paper & cardboard, in from the sea,

Just from a distance this is all one can see…

My ocean a disposal for all manner of trash,

This WILL one day promote from Nature backlash,

Thankfully, yet, no oil platforms off my beaches,

Soon they may come, as man & humanity in general,

Are all but total leeches…

I don't know what it is about sea garbage that is so totally abhorrent - if not for the very stark fact that it is just so disgusting and wrong! I live on a nature reserve with amazingly clean beaches... but with also a small island oil rig slap bang in the middle, so go figure! Perhaps it's a question of scale and strict regulations being rigorously enforced? xx

It's so very sad how little humankind cares about our beautiful oceans, Ed...ugly trash washing up on the shore...just plain disgusting...but I agree with you...Mother Earth WILL fight back one day...

Ed, the image as you describe your beach brings tears to my eyes. I so love the ocean, and Jersey Beaches where I grew up,and one of my uncles sent a pic some months ago to show exactly what you spoke of. He's just past WildWood. I hope they begin to do something about it soon. It 's heartbreaking! Thanks for sharing Bro. sis

We had such a beautiful planet but so few of us recognise the fact. 'Man and Humanity' is a parasite taking all and leaving a devastating trail of destruction in its wake

A billion cars, and as many oil rigs soon, all be left is scars, no more trees to breath the air, no more fish, a food we share, and then no more humans, most are too daft to care. Bless ya!

His footprint upon our earth,
Is far from what he is worth

How so very sadly true today - and it's getting much worse. Check out some of the videos showing the humongous garbage heap islands out in our oceans, and some of the god-awful photos of Mountaintop Removing Mining and all the sheer devastation left behind.

We human leeches truly are destroying Mother Earth, and a lot more quickly than many choose to believe.

Well said, Ed...hmmm rhymes. I am nearly insulted every time I see someone just drop trash or toss a bag from fast food out the window of their car. Who do they think is supposed to clean up after them? Did their parents not teach them to be responsible? It is a sad state of affairs. I hope you are doing well.
Take care,
Sherry

Uh, you don't benefit from those fucking oil rigs, Ed? What is it that makes your vehicle run? Get an electric car, dude, you're so environmentally in tune with nature.
